FAQ Body

If you find that you are unable to access your camera and microphone in Microsoft Teams , you may need to allow the correct Permissions. To achieve this, follow the steps below.

  1. Open System Preferences  and click on Security and Privacy.

  2. Go to the Privacy tab.

  3. Find the Camera and Microphone sections in the list on the left. In each of these sections, ensure that Microsoft Teams is present as an option, and that it is ticked, as per the screenshots below.
  4. If Microsoft Teams does not appear as an option to be ticked, open Teams and click your initials in the top right corner, then click Settings.

  5. Go to the Permissions tab and ensure Media (Camera, microphone, speakers) is switched on. If you don't have this option, go to step 6.

  7. Go to the Devices tab and try to select the Camera, Microphone & speakers you want. It should prompt for access. Make sure to click YES.

If you have any issues accessing or loading Teams, please Delete and then Reinstall the app. To do this, quit Teams, then go to your Applications folder and drag the Teams application into the Trash. Empty the trash and then reinstall it from Self Service .

If you have any further issues please email the Tech Centre.
